The path from golf professional to personal branding strategist

As an eight-year-old, Bernhard discovered golf by chance between bratwurst and beer tent sets at a traditional Bavarian maypole festival.

This encounter had a fundamental impact on his future career. From the start, he was fascinated by the game, which requires not only physical skill but also mental strength. While other children played soccer and met in the afternoon, Bernhard consistently pursued his vision from the age of 10 with ambition and discipline. He wanted to be a professional golfer.

His uncompromising dedication to sport has already paid off: multiple Bavarian championship titles, winner of the Youth Country Cup with the Bayern selection and German runner-up. At just 16 years of age, he was appointed to the German national team and established himself as one of the most outstanding young golfers worldwide. He celebrated his biggest victory up to that point at the age of 18 — he was the first German ever to win the prestigious Boys Amateur Championship in England.

After Bernhard had already made a name for himself in Europe, he wanted to develop professionally and personally. After graduating from high school, Bernhard therefore decided to move to college in the USA, more precisely to the famous Oklahoma State University, which has been one of the best golf teams in America for decades. Here he played with the world's best amateurs and pursued exactly one goal with his teammates: to be the best. Think big or go home was the motto. On the golf course, in the gym and for Bernhard also in the lecture room. At university, Bernhard also deepened his fascination for business, American marketing and investment.

After completing his Master of Business Administration (MBA) as one of the top of the class, Bernhard began his professional golf career. He played on international tours in Europe and the Middle East for four years, with numerous top placements.

But then came the moment that affects every athlete one day: The farewell to professional sport. Bernhard made the transition from professional sports to the business world with the same level of excellence that has already characterized his sporting career. In management consulting, he rose to team leader in record time. But following his vision of excellence, he ventured into self-employment two and a half years later — once again, he demonstrated his unconditional will for success and development.

Today Bernhard is a sought-after authority at the interface of business, investment and marketing. As a company founder, lecturer and international speaker, he sets standards in strategic corporate management and digital transformation. His select clientele includes big names such as BMW, soccer star Thomas Müller and leading medium-sized companies, whom he leads to new successes with his agency Builderz. Builderz focuses on personal branding and positioning medium-sized companies through branding and marketing.

When Bernhard is not working, you can still meet him on the golf course in a great mood today. His love for games and nature is unwavering.
