Cookies are data sets that are stored on your device and provide the website operator who sets the cookie with certain information. They are used to improve the overall usability and effectiveness of the website. Section 6 provides detailed information about cookies from third parties whose services we use.

You have extensive rights with regard to the processing of your personal data. First, you have a comprehensive right to information and can request the correction and/or deletion and/or blocking of your personal data, if necessary. Analytical tools and tools from third parties
When you visit this website, your surfing behavior can be statistically evaluated. This is mainly done with so-called analysis programs. These tools may be provided by third parties and include collecting and tracking certain data and information about the characteristics and activities of visitors to our site. We may transfer data, including personal information, to certain third parties to receive such services.
Among other things, we use tools from companies based in the USA or other third countries that are not secure under data protection law. If these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in these third countries. We would like to point out that no level of data protection comparable with the EU can be guaranteed in these countries. For example, US companies are required to disclose personal data to security authorities and you, as a data subject, cannot take legal action to prevent this. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that US authorities (e.g. secret services) will not process, evaluate and permanently store your data, which is located on US servers, for monitoring purposes. We have no influence on these processing activities.
Google Analytics
We create pseudonymous user profiles with Google Analytics in order to design our websites as needed. Google Analytics uses target group cookies, which can be stored on your device and retrieved by us. This allows us to recognize and count returning visitors as such and learn how often our websites have been visited by different users. Data processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO (consent).
The information generated by these cookies about your use of our website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, as we have activated IP anonymization on our website, your IP address will be abbreviated by Google within the European Union beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there (further information on the purpose and scope of data collection can be found, for example, at (https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de). We have also concluded an order processing agreement with Google LLC (USA) in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. Accordingly, Google will use all information exclusively to evaluate the use of our websites and to prepare reports on website activity for us.
Once you have given your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Please use one of the following options:
- You inform us that you wish to withdraw your consent.
- You can prevent cookies from being saved by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.
- You can also prevent the collection of data generated by cookies and related to your website usage (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).

Hotjar
This website uses features of the Hotjar web analysis service. The provider is Hotjar Inc., Level 2, St. Julian's Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St. Julian's STJ 1000, Malta.
We use Hotjar to better understand the needs of our users and to optimize the offer and experience on this website. Hotjar's technology gives us a better understanding of our users' experience (e.g. how much time users spend on which pages, which links they click on, what they like and don't like) and that helps us tailor our offer to feedback from our users. Hotjar works with cookies and other technologies to collect data about the behavior of our users and about their devices, in particular the device's IP address (only collected and stored in anonymized form during your use of the website), screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), information about the browser used, location (country only), preferred language to view our website. Hotjar stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymized user profile. Hotjar is contractually obliged not to sell the data collected on our behalf.
We only use the tool with your consent; the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO. You can also deactivate the analysis function by simply activating the standard “Do not Track” function in your browser. In this case, we will not process your personal data as described above. Instructions on how to activate the “Do Not Track” feature can be found at this link: (www.hotjar.com/legal/compliance/opt-out/).
We've also integrated Twitter's remarketing feature on our website. It is offered by Twitter Inc, 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. With the Twitter remarketing function, we can address you on the Twitter platform with interest-based advertising. Twitter uses so-called “tags” for this purpose. This tag records visits to our website and usage data (e.g. all interactions regarding the displayed advertising, such as clicking on links, retweets or likes) in pseudonymous form. If you then visit Twitter, you will be shown ads tailored to your interests. Twitter thus receives information from your browser that our website has been visited from your device. If you are registered with a Twitter service, Twitter can associate the visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Twitter or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider receives and stores your IP address and other identifiers. The information generated by these tags about your use of our services is transmitted to a Twitter server in the USA and stored there.
The legal basis for such data processing is your consent in accordance with Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
For more information on how to deactivate this feature directly on Twitter, visit (https://help.twitter.com/de/safety-and-security/privacy-controls-for-tailored-ads).
Further information on data processing by Twitter can be found at (https://twitter.com/de/privacy).
LinkedIn (insight day)
We also use conversion tracking on our website with the LinkedIn Insights Tag, a tool from LinkedIn Ireland, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland. The LinkedIn Insight Tag is therefore integrated on our website and a cookie is set by LinkedIn on your device. This informs LinkedIn that you have visited our website, which also collects your IP address. Timestamps and events, such as page views, are also saved. This enables us to statistically evaluate the use of our website in order to continuously optimize it. For example, we learn which LinkedIn advertising or interaction with LinkedIn was used to access our website. This allows us to improve the placement of our advertising. The legal basis for such data processing is your consent in accordance with Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
For more information about conversion tracking, visit (https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a420536/linkedin-conversion-trackingubersicht?lang=de).
Please note that the data can be stored and processed by LinkedIn, which enables a connection to the respective user profile and LinkedIn can use the data for its own advertising purposes. For more information, please see LinkedIn's privacy policy at (https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy).
You can prevent LinkedIn from analyzing your usage behavior and from displaying interest-based recommendations via (https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out).
Hosting with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
We host our website on AWS. The provider is Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, 1855 Luxembourg (hereinafter: AWS). When you visit our website, your personal data is processed on AWS servers. In this context, personal data may also be transferred to the headquarters of AWS in the USA. The use of AWS is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. We have a legitimate interest in ensuring that our website is presented as reliably as possible. If consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR; consent can be withdrawn at any time.
For more information, please see the AWS Privacy Policy: (https://aws.amazon.com/de/privacy/?nc1=f_pr).
Storage period
We process and store your personal data primarily for the period necessary for the respective purpose of use (see above for the individual processing purposes). Where applicable, this also includes the periods of initiating a contract (pre-contractual legal relationship) and processing a contract. On this basis, personal data is regularly deleted as part of the fulfilment of our contractual and/or legal obligations, unless their temporary further processing is necessary for the following purposes:
- Fulfilment of legal storage obligations arising, for example, from the Commercial Code (“HGB”) (Section 257 Paragraph 4 HGB) and the Tax Code (“AO”) (Section 147 Paragraph 3, 4 AO). The storage and documentation periods specified in these regulations are up to ten years.
- Preservation of evidence, taking into account the statute of limitations. According to Sections 194 et seq. of the Civil Code (“BGB”), these limitation periods may amount to up to 30 years, with the regular limitation period being three years.
If you make a legitimate request for deletion or withdraw consent to data processing, your data will be deleted, unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in this case, the data will be deleted after these reasons no longer apply.
